My Kindergarten students are given a great deal of choice and flexibility our classroom. They have options to sit where they want and with whomever they want during small group and independent activities. They have choice in using a variety of materials such as crayons, markers, smelly markers, and pencils. The choice keeps their interested engaged and fosters and sense of ownership and buy-in for my young learners. The purpose of this project is to further organize each student's materials and classroom library. They need systems to teach them how to organize their brains and their belongings to be more successful.
