Since students worked from home last year, they did not really get a chance to learn calculator skills. Now that they are back in person, I would like them to learn how to use a calculator, especially one that has more than just basic numbers and operations, so they are ready for a graphing calculator in high school. This will address most of the seventh grade standards but especially 7.NS and 7.EE. My students do not know how to use a calculator because they haven't had a physical one to practice on. That's why it is important for my classroom to get new scientific calculators. Hopefully these tools will help them catch up to the current grade level and push them even further into the next grade.
