Students LOVE taking Art classes for many reasons, but I feel it's mostly because they have the freedom to be who they are. Self expression and creativity are highly encouraged in Art and students are drawn to that non-restrictive and open minded environment. Art is a form of communication, and ever since we left school for the global pandemic, students have being missing out on many aspects of school life. Socialization, whether through Art or other means, is vital for students of this age. Without proper supplies, students will not receive a thorough education they would have if they were allowed to go to school or "to the classroom studio." They need to be able to "get their hands" dirty again! They need to be able to get creative again! And most importantly, they need to be able to work three-dimensionally again! Students need to feel therapeutic through Art again during these troubling times.
