Small group instruction is one of the most effective ways to reach every student in an elementary classroom. In my classroom, I use small group instruction time every day for both reading and math. This allows me to differentiate my instruction and reach every student especially the struggling learners. I am requesting a horseshoe table to use during our small group instruction time. The table includes a dry erase top that will be used to work out math problems, brainstorm ideas, and practice making words. I am also requesting dry erase erasers and cleaner that will be used to take care of the tabletop. The shape of the horseshoe table is going to allow each student to have enough space to work. They will also be able to collaborate more easily with their classmates. Their ability to focus will also improve as they will receive more direct instruction. The addition of this table will improve learning for not only my current students, but students for many years to come.
