These supplies will allow me to give specialized handwriting instruction that addresses startling student gaps in fine motor skills. The blackboards provide chalk written handwriting practice that forces students to press and create muscle memory when forming letters. Additionally, the handwriting pencils (which are larger in size compared to traditional pencils) will make writing easier for my students until the muscles in their small hands are developed and strengthened. They would even be able to use them throughout their instructional day. These supplies are not used in their general education classrooms unfortunately, so their only access to them will be with my during my small group sessions.
