My third graders deserve the opportunity to explore their creativity! Missing almost a month of school has impacted the pacing of our curriculum, placing more pressure on our students to show independent growth! We must accomplish so much in a smaller amount of time, all while many of my students adapt to a "new" normal due to the hurricane. Without a doubt, we will meet these goals. However, along the way I'd like to provide students with a dual environment of standards based learning and learning beyond the typical curriculum. We all have a common bond of imagination and learning through fun gaming experiences! Therefore, I hope to provide more exploration and learning with these stations with the funding of this project! Each child, no matter their academic level or economic status, loves the chance to visit our Maker Station, our own classroom STEAM lab, or gaming station during reading and math block! Utilizing the resources from this project will provide my students with more opportunities in each of these stations. Included resources cover the spectrum, from robotics and engineering to word exploration and reading comprehension games! Children will have the chance to create roller coasters, code robots and mazes. They will also enjoy based English- language arts games to help build their mastery of word families, sight words and vocabulary. Reading comprehension will be increased by some of these awesome games as well! These hands-on learning opportunities will be part of our everyday routine, so each resource would be used to the max!
