The right book in the hands of the right child at the right time can move mountains. It is critical that children have access to a rich classroom libraries in order to find the books which will become their lifelong favorites. The more choices present for them, the more likely they are to develop intrinsic motivation to read. I want every student in my classroom to know feel as though their interests and needs are being reflected on our bookshelves. Creating a bookshelf that celebrates diverse learners will take time and effort, but this list will get us going in the right direction!
