Flexible seating will allow my students to move from standard student seating to seating that allows movement and choice. In transitioning my classroom into flexible seating, I truly believe that it will promote student motivation and significantly higher engagement throughout the day. With that said, teaching in a diverse district comes with teaching diverse students with diverse needs. There are a number of students in my classroom who will benefit from an accommodation such as a wobbly stool versus a standard chair. Offering flexible seating to my students will have great benefits to their learning in my classroom. Flexible seating will help my students burn more calories, use up excess energy, and increase motivation and engagement.
