From Charlie to Willy Wonka: Reel Reading--Literature and Film-- in the English Classroom. This year, the Seniors had the unique opportunity to choose from an exciting list of English courses, one of which is titled Reel Reading: A Focus on Film. Our school is a high-need school with students who are college-bound. Already, these seniors have managed to earn almost half a million dollars in merit scholarship money. This class is the last English class they will take in their high school careers; it is my hope and expectation that they will be able to hone their critical thinking and analysis skills via reading literature, exploring film, and gearing up their writing for college.
