This proposed project will target students from rural disadvantaged communities where resources and experiences such as those that will be provided may not be available. Students in these areas have limited opportunities and experiences that reinforce and enrich their academic learning and general well being. Students in our schools are provided with a comprehensive, standards based education and are encouraged to collaborate across the K-12 continuum. The assessment data has shown continuous improvement over the last 3 years as we are expanding learning opportunities through the implementation of STEM practices and the development of problem solving, critical thinking and observational skills through authentic place based learning. As we implement our STEM programs our students will be empowered with the skills and knowledge that will allow them to be successful life long learners.
