My students are in Kindergarten to 3rd grade. They are beginning readers that need easy to read and predictable text. A big part of their learning is through the books we read each day. This year we are bringing back the Accelerated Reading program. They enjoy looking at the pictures in the books and making up stories to go along with the pictures. They also love to listen to books being read aloud. Many of the books in my classroom are higher level reading books. My students need books that have easy to read text.
