The days of "drill and kill" for math facts are long gone, but that doesn't mean the students don't need to know their multiplication and division fact with automaticity. These multiplication/ division rugs would be a fun, kinesthetic way for my students to practice and memorize their facts. Activities would include students being able to hop and walk to math facts, checking solved facts and understanding the relationship between multiplication and division. In addition to learning facts, these rugs would add a comfortable and educational place for students to come together as a group. It would be a great place for my class to come together and build classroom community and allowing them a positive environment to learn in.
