My students come from low income families but this does not deter them from having the will to learn and the desire to overcome challenges. My students have struggles that include lack of family support, language barriers and and many were affected by Hurricane Harvey. An area I can make sure they do not lack in is educational opportunities. Tutoring and small groups are essential to closing learning gaps and enriching educational skills. I am trying to make these times meaningful with as much student involvement as possible. Being able to implement technology will allow my students to incorporate an interactive education. Ipads will enhance their learning options, My students will be able to reinforce math and reading concepts by utilizing apps, flip charts and websites that have the level of rigor that they need to continue to grow in their education an achieve educational success.
