Maria Montessori believed in 'teaching peace' and I do as well. Our community has a peace corner that needs more materials to provide children with a safe space to unwind and learn how what it means to be peaceful or to be a peacemaker. The easel and drying rack benefit all of the children who have a passion for art. It will allow children to creatively express themselves, work through a multi-step process and build upon fine motor skills. The other resources will benefit children who need additional support in focusing on work and completing their daily 'accomplishments' and will provide other intervention opportunities for language. Children will become more engaged with these new materials and will be more motivated and encouraged to complete work. The children that need the extra support will finally be able to receive it.
