The community in which my school is located is a real mix. There is a mix of different kinds of families, cultures, socioeconomic statuses, and level of involvement at school. One constant within that mix, though, is the expectation and hope that each student attending our school will find success in his or her own way. Students create art, build robots, go to engineering and language clubs, garden, play soccer... There are many opportunities to go beyond the rigorous day-to-day curriculum. Even more important, though, is the warm, family-oriented atmosphere of the school. Everyone is greeted with a smile. Students hold doors for one another, adults volunteer in the classroom and on field trips, teachers collaborate. We all take care of one another and do our best to make our school the best place for children to learn and grow every day.
