Students will be using these straw rocket launchers to perform controlled experiments during a STEM unit. Students will be engaged in an engineering design challenge that combines the science of force and flight with engineering and and data analysis to design a straw rocket that will land in a specific landing zone. The Pitsco Straw Rocket Package will allow students the opportunity to test variables, create rockets, and have fun! Having two launchers will allow more students to be engaged in the lessons and experiments because they won't have to wait as long for their turn. Launching straw rockets also gives students a hands-on experience with rockets and forces of flight, and it will give them opportunities to apply their knowledge of how different variables affect the flight of the rockets.
