The more students read the better their fluency and comprehension will be. At the same time, they will be reading books that interest them increasing the motivation to read. The impact it will have on the students should show up on their standardized test. I have included fiction and nonfiction books in my library. These books also include topics and subject matter. Island of the Blue Dolphin incorprates Science. Abraham Lincoln covers Social Studies and can be used during the President's holiday. I have also included a book on bullying, a topic of much concern today. These books will become part of my classroom library.
