Many of my students deal with concentration issues every day because there is too much noise. Our students are mandated 1 hour per day to be on tablets. 30 min. on an individualized reading program and 30 min. on a math program. Without adequate headphones, it is very distracting for adults to concentrate let alone beginning students. The school provided a very inexpensive pair of headphones last year that I was supposed to reuse next year. Unfortunately, most of them broke early on in the year and have been thrown away. Since they were not replaced they had to turn their volume down and try to ignore the tablets around them.
Last year, tablet time was the most frustrating part of the day for all of us! I have put headphones on our school supply list, but even the essential school supplies are not brought in by most students in my class. I always provide most pencils, notebooks, and crayons etc.
PLEASE HELP US FOCUS on all the instructional tablet material instead of listening to our friend's tablets around us!
