With the use of an interactive 120 floor rug, specific, physical emphasis gets put upon the place value of a number depending upon the mathematical operation occuring. Students can visually see how numbers change, but nothing disappears or reappears, it is right in front of them. The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics encourages research based use of interactive manipulatives. Your help in obtaining these exciting and effective tools will make a huge and positive difference in how my students learn and feel about mathematics. Using 100 and 120 number charts and mats will turn learning first grade math standards into a game. What number is one more or one less? How about 4 less? What is ten more or ten less? Students will be interactively jumping around on colorful 120 charts seeing the relationships between numbers with ease.
