My students are amazing and motivated to learn, with the right resources. This school year I have moved to a new school, new county, and new grade level. I teach 5th grade reading and social studies to 75 students. New resources and teaching materials have not been purchased in many years and very few resources align to our most recent standards. Since my school is not a Title I school, we do not receive any extra funding. People think that since we are not Title I, we receive all kinds of money from parents and the community. That is just not the case. We actually have less money to spend on resources than Title I schools. Our kids need the same opportunities and resources as students in other schools.
