This project aims to build on students' abilities to solve a visual design problem and experience using advanced supplies (canvases) mixed with unexpected supplies (food dye) to create something truly unique and fun! Some students will be creating a modern graphic design painting while others will get to make a black and white portrait of an inspirational person in their lives (open to both famous and personal). We seldom have the opportunity to paint on canvases due to the expensive nature of them, but there is truly little more satisfying to a student than to paint on a real canvas like a "real artist." My students are so creative and have worked hard to enhance their art skills and always ask if they can have a canvas to keep their project forever. Further, my students have difficulty with fine motor skills, which makes their initial drawings messy with hard pencil lines and eraser marks. The light tracing boxes will help students clean up their work without having to rely on a sunny day to trace at the windows! The pencils, erasers, and sharpies will help my students create the very best work they can. Thank you so much for this opportunity!
