My students are all from the inner city and many come from low income families. My classroom is unique in that it is an inclusion classroom where there are both students with and without disabilities. The disabilities range from developmental delays to autism. Currently, it is very difficult for students to access curriculum through paper and pencil tasks. In addition they often struggle to demonstrate what they know through these same tasks. An iPad would allow students a chance, through various apps, to both learn new material and show what they know.
