I teach 32 kindergarten students ranging in age from 4 to 6 years old. They come from a mid to low socio-economic range in Northern California. Many of the students have not had a pre-school experience and are learning not only academics but working on how to behave appropriately in a classroom environment. We have no technology in our class and my students would greatly benefit by utilizing an IPad with educational aps during center time. There are many aps that foster learning in an engaging way as well as hands on technology which is part of the new common core standards for Kindergarten. . They are excited about learning and I want to provide them a fantastic start to their education. We are working on developing center routines and this could be one of our centers as well as utilized with a small intervention group.
