I struggle with finding STEM projects that are both engaging and challenging for my high school students. Model rocketry is both! In this unit, my STEM students learn about the history of our space program and Newton's Laws of Motion. We then see what we learned in action when we build two rockets and launch them at our football field. This year, we also want to engage and inspire younger students in STEM. We plan to partner with a few elementary or middle school classes. We will help them build stomp rockets and then invite them all to watch at least one of our two launches!
