My class is an inclusion class. That means that over half my students are struggling learners. We face issues like learning disabilities, attention deficit issues, and reading below grade level. Our school is a small Title I school in a rural area. Many of our families do not value reading and in some families, parents are functionally illiterate. For my students, the only time they truly read is at school. So our classroom needs to be a literature-rich environment.
