My students really enjoy working in cooperative learning centers with their peers. All of the items in this project will assist in creating new options for each of their literacy centers. First grade students need engaging literacy centers to help foster independence and enhance classroom instruction. During center time, students are able to complete a variety of tasks. They are able to work together with their peers to solve problems which is crucial in social development. I have seen how my students are actively engaged during center rotations, and I believe that new center materials will only further their desire to become independent learners and creative problem solvers.
