My hard-working rural students engage in technology every day and they can't hear! Technology needs to be heard through headphones that are working, and mouse pads that aren't "ratty"! I teach over 800 wonderful, bright, energetic, K-3 students in a week in the computer lab. To maintain the rigorous pace of the Common Core Standards, each child needs to be able to concentrate on their work without hearing the computer next to them that does not have a set of headphones. Our school building is old. It was built in the 1950's, but that doesn't mean we can't enable them to learn with the latest in technology!
