Providing opportunities for students to make choices during the day helps students become responsible for their learning. One way I can offer my students choices is by creating flexible seating in our classroom. My students have a few flexible seating choices right now such as: sitting on the floor at lowered tables, sitting under desks with a reading book, and sitting on the floor with a Chromebook and/or clipboard. I have witnessed a positive difference since bringing flexible seating into our classroom. Students are motivated to demonstrate responsibility by being on task and doing their part in creating a positive learning environment for all students. The products I have selected will offer a variety of choices for flexible seating. The floor chairs will help students be comfortable while working independently during the day. The rubber cushions will provide stimulation for students who need to wiggle while they learn. The headphones will support learning while students focus on individual lessons. Thank you for helping my students be more responsible in their learning while engaging in their lessons.
