I teach fourth graders who come from a variety of backgrounds. They are a diverse group as far as socioeconomic status, race, and culture. Many live in the neighborhood surrounding our school; others are bused in from government-subsidized apartment homes. However, they are all proud to attend our great elementary school. I have always been impressed by how well our students here get along together. We teach pre-K through 6th grades and have approximately 550 students each year. We are located in a mid-sized city in Texas.
