My elementary art students love to talk about art work in the classroom. We work really hard on vocabulary, but with art only once a week, sometimes they forget by the time an artwork goes home. While they are in the art room with me I can quiz them on art vocabulary and the lesson's objectives, but without a handout it is hard for parents and classroom teachers to continue that learning process outside the art room. I love to hear from parents about how students have shared their artwork or told them about a project we are working on in art. This tells me that my students are engaged and excited about the learning.
