The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math. Using the workshop model in math, students use them when we work on a math problem as a group or during my small group instruction. My students become more engaged when using a whiteboard. The problem that we are having is that the whiteboards we are currently using are too small for my students to be able to show all their work. They are also really old and handles are falling off. My students would greatly appreciate this resource to help them engage more and show their strategies. You can use them to engage every child in every single lesson. Minute by minute, you’ll know exactly who’s grasping the concepts and who’s not. Students love them because they’re fun. Mistakes made during guided practice can be easily brushed away. Using dry erase boards will save paper. Dry erase boards can be used in whole group instruction, small guided groups, and learning centers. No need to worry about technology failing when you need it most.
