I teach a kindergarten through second grade class for students with autism at a public school in Watts area of Los Angeles, CA. The students are from low-income families and do not have the access or advantages of most children. Given their special needs and their difficult community and family backgrounds these students’ needs are greater than usual. The students are proud of their multicultural and bilingual backgrounds. They are excited about school and eager to learn each day. My goal is to empower them with the knowledge and confidence that they can learn and succeed despite the many challenges they face.

About my class
