Interactive games are a part of my students' everyday lives. They positively respond to technology, so it needs to be incorporated into their classroom experience. Utilizing a jeopardy game with immediate feed and team collaboration will engage my competitive and tech savvy students in their Algebra class. Although we live in a diverse city, the population of my school is not; my students are 99.9% African American, over 86% of whom are eligible for free or reduced lunch. My students witness and endure violence on a daily basis both in their neighborhoods and on their journey to and from school. Despite these hardships, my students are driven, exuberant and kind. They attend high school in a converted middle school where classrooms are very small, and they lack resources that should be found in a high school.
