Hi! As you know, 5 year olds have a lot of energy! We like to channel our students' energy through movement. We do this by moving around a lot through out the day as we are learning in our clean, safe environment. Our students sit on the rug to listen to stories, they turn and talk to their peers to share ideas during class discussions, they play learning games on the rug and they exercise on the rug. We continually have them move from the rug to their tables, and from their tables to rug throughout the day. As you can imagine, our carpet had taken a lot of wear and tear throughout the years and we can't sweep that fact under the rug! Our 10 year old rug has seen a lot learning but it has also been thrown up on, urinated on and (sadly) defecated on throughout the years. It has been shampooed each time, but it is showing its old age. Please help us create a clean, safe environment for our students by funding our request for a new, bright, cheery rug for our well deserving students.
