The use of online mentor author stories is frequently used in my classroom to stimulate my students' love of listening, reading and writing stories. Students will be able to use headphones to connect and listen to stories by mentor authors available online during reading and writing workshops. The materials being requested, such as the headphones, printer and paper, will give students the tools to create and be inspired by their own stories. The printed stories produced by students can then be shared with classmates and family members in the same way that professional authors present their work to an audience. The act of seeing their work written on paper and read by other people will inspire the students' appreciation of writing and thereby encourage them to develop this all-important skill.
