Waipahu Intermediate School is a Title I school where most students come from hard working immigrant families, ranging from first generation to the current generation families whose ancestors came to Hawaii with little but the clothes on their backs, and settled into this plantation town called Waipahu. Our school logo shows the sugar cane plant, shown above, which was the main crop that sustained Waipahu's plantation workers. Our students strive to do their very best, although basic school supplies are often hard to come by.
