I currently serve 34 students grades 1-5. These students are considered below grade level in reading and struggle due to a variety of factors. I serve many students who are literate in their primary language. They come to my classroom in small groups for reading support and additional practice of reading skills. My classroom is set up so students can gain the skills they need to learn how to decode words along with building confidence. I allow them to practice their skills in a low risk environment. I also strive to foster a love of reading.
