We are a small developmental preschool that serves a huge need in our community. Headstart and other preschool programs don't always serve those with special needs, but is very necessary. In preschool students learn how to sit, listen, share, take turns, what it means to have big feelings and how to handle them, how to play in a group, how to play alone, how to focus, how to be creative (this is a learned skill - not something some kids are more gifted in), how to move, how to be safe, and more. For special needs students these skills can be doubly challenging. In our school we learn about the whole child and what each individual needs to succeed before they hit kindergarten and public school. Currently we are housed in an old highschool from the 50's that was never meant to be used as a preschool, but we make it work, and are good at finding resources! Thank you for considering us. We are small, but we are mighty!
