My students are very eager to learn and to have a second place to call home. Most of my students' parents work in agriculture and depend on the school and the teacher for access to education and resources. Many of my students stay in the after school program and get picked up at 6pm. Being with them for most of their day, I get to know all of my students in a personal level. I know their siblings and build relationships with not just my student but their extended family as well. My classroom has become a second home and a place where families can come and get support from applying to a new job to finding resources to help them in whatever they might need.
