In my classroom, we foster a warm and nurturing environment for students with autism, where each child has their own unique way of learning. Recognizing the diverse sensory needs of my students is a priority, and we have dedicated sensory and calming areas that create a peaceful atmosphere. While my classroom presents its challenges, I feel incredibly fortunate to have the support of two amazing paraprofessionals who enrich our daily learning experience. My students are joyful and eager to come to class, thriving within a structured routine that provides comfort and security. Many may not fully understand life in a special education autism classroom until they experience it. I truly love what I do; I invest time in learning each student’s strengths and needs, enabling me to tailor my teaching methods to their unique learning styles. Every day is an opportunity for growth, laughter, and discovery in our classroom!
