Sherwood School Library services 960 students. We have Spanish and English books in our library. Most of our students are hispanic/ Latino and may be low income. Some families are field workers and don't have a high school diploma. Many students don't have their own books to read at home. Our School feels very fortunate to be able to support every student at our school with books they like to read. I say they, because when I,Mrs. Herrera orders books, I take orders from students. I am always asking students for recommendations.I feel its important that, aside curriculum, our library is ordering books "they" want to read. Also, Library scenery is magical. We incorporate books to meet the imagination. I like that students look forward to visiting Accelerated Reader program after school. This time allows students to exchange any book after school . Students also visit the library every week with their teacher.
