My students are motivated by music. It gives them unique entry points to learning. I teach 7th and 8th grade English in a high-needs school. My students are often stymied by the dry literature curriculum mandated by DCPS. As such, I work hard to create lesson plans that will convey the District standards in ways that are meaningful and motivating to my particular group of students.
