I have a class of 5 boys on the Autism Spectrum. The boys are in 3rd through 5th grade and all are more than 2 grade levels below their current grade. I have 2 verbal and 3 non-verbal students and most of them use an augmentative device to communicate. They LOVE physical activity and we find that they communicate even more when engaged in physical activity. They attend a public school and spend most of their day in a self-contained Autism classroom.
