I teach first grade in a suburban middle class elementary school at which the students receive instruction in all subject areas from their homeroom teacher along with additional support and intervention from support programs/sources/individuals as deemed necessary for success. My first grade students are enthusiastic learners at all levels and from a variety of backgrounds requiring multiple strategies and techniques to meet their individual needs. Given these differences, they are united in their love for learning and come to school ready to do their best. As their teacher it is my goal each year to identify and implement the tools and teaching necessary to ensure students reach their academic goals while providing learning opportunities that keep a smile on their face and a love for learning in their heart.
