I have a deep passion for books and for fostering a love of reading in my students. The fact that my school serves a diverse community of English language learners in an urban district makes my role as a library teacher even more essential. I see how students value the library and its resources so highly. By creating a dynamic and engaging environment, I hope to make reading come alive for these young readers. This is especially important for students who may not have access to books at home, as it gives them a chance to explore new worlds and ideas that they may not have encountered otherwise. It's wonderful to hear the buzz about books and an excitement for reading in our school! I love how the library can serve as a safe and respectful space for students by providing a welcoming environment and access to high-quality books. We are creating a sense of belonging and support for these young readers!
