The supplies that I have submitted for this project will benefit my students by allowing them to have the basic necessities for school. Although we distribute a supply list to the parents prior to the beginning of the school year, many of the families can only afford uniforms, therefore, students enroll in school without the necessary supplies needed to perform the daily tasks at school. Many of us view such things as notebook paper, pencils, glue sticks, and construction paper as minimal; however, every year, thousands of students start the school year off without these very basic necessities. Oftentimes, teachers are left with the burden of having to purchase these items out of their own pockets to supply these items to their students if they want their students to be successful. This project will benefit my students in a great way. It will not only provide them with the materials necessary to perform their daily tasks, it will also reduce the conversations and sometimes embarrassing situations that are oftentimes felt when students lack those things that have been deemed as "required". Help me help my students with the basics!!!
