My school is the largest in my county with the highest number of students in poverty. My students range in races, backgrounds, and learning levels. Some of my students get help at home. However, most of my students are forced to do their homework alone and help take care of their household. My school is within walking distance to most of their homes. Sometimes my encouragement is all they get. With your help, their confidence will sky rocket and smiles will never leave their faces. Despite their ages, they are wise beyond their years. My smartie pant students are the reason I am a teacher. My classroom is their escape...their place to go to feel loved...encouraged....to know they can do ANYTHING they put their mind to.
