Education is constantly changing and more and more studies show that students need personalized learning experiences to achieve at their greatest potential. Flexible seating gives students voice and choice into how they learn, empowering them to select the best physical environment for their individual learning styles and needs. Flexible seating removes the institutionalized feel from school and creates a more real-world atmosphere that encourages students to be lifelong learners in the 21st century. Rather than a traditional setup, imagine a classroom furnished with things like saucer chairs, active learning stools, and a comfy futon for reading and collaborating with friends. Imagine students curling up in inflatable and beach chairs to research things they are personally passionate about. This is exactly the classroom I seek to create. Having this alternative environment will transform our learning space from one in which students have to go, to one they can't wait to get to everyday! Thank you SO much for your consideration of funding this project!
