My role at Tenniswood elementary is as an Administrative Aide in charge of school-wide discipline and positive behavior incentives. This is a new position in our district that is designed to address the growing need for social emotional support for our students. I would like to set up my office as a safe and quiet space for frustrated students who enter to have a calm place to decompress before they are ready to identify why they feel the way they do. Students often need that moment before they are able to discuss the reasons behind their behavior and finding the root cause of behavior can unlock the answers needed to improve conduct and set the student on the path to success.

About my class
