Our students come with a variety of abilities and disabilities. The students range between Kinder - 5th grade. We are what has been termed a "self contained" classroom. Each of our students have individual education plans to provide academic success. In addition, we have paraprofessionals. This year a student teacher too Our learning includes a lot of non-traditional learning styles. We utilize a lot of hands on learning opportunities using manipulatives, exploration of sensory modalities. In addition, our classroom strives from routine, schedules, boundaries, and implementation of prompt hierarchies. Each day we provide opportunities to for sensory input. These tools include a classroom trampoline, flexible seating, access to a large variety of fidgets, and time in our Action Base Learning Lab. We do enjoy time with our non-disabled peers and join them for art, music, P.E, recess, lunch, and assemblies.
